Privacy

Your privacy, in plain language

What we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never see or store your actual password), and your date of birth — used only to confirm you’re 18+ and, if you choose, to show your age or age range. Your date of birth is never shown to anyone.
  • Profile: whatever you choose to add — display name, username, photo, bio, interests, general location (state, and city or town if you like), what you’re looking for, relationship status. All optional except a display name and username.
  • What you post: chat messages, private messages, stories, comments, profile photos, and recordings you upload.
  • Safety records: blocks, reports, and moderator actions.
  • Technical: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and short-lived, scrambled (hashed) records of connection addresses used only to limit spam and abuse.

How long we keep things

  • Chat messages disappear after 5 hours. Every message in every room — the Gathering Room, the Singles Room, lounges, and private conversations — is deleted from our storage 5 hours after it was sent (not 5 hours after the conversation goes quiet). It stops being visible at the 5-hour mark, and our automatic cleanup removes it from storage within minutes after that.
  • One exception — safety reports. If someone reports a message or a conversation, we keep a minimal, encrypted copy of the reported message and the few messages around it, so moderators can act on it. Only moderators can see it. It’s deleted 30 days after the report is closed, and never kept longer than 180 days.
  • Disappearing messages can’t prevent screenshots, copying, or the other person saving what you wrote somewhere else. Please share only what you’re comfortable with.
  • Kept until you delete them: your account, profile, photos, published stories and comments.
  • Kept for accountability: a log of moderator and administrator actions (it doesn’t contain message text).

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your information. Ever.
  • We don’t show ads or use advertising trackers.
  • We never ask for your street address or GPS location — only a state, and a city or town if you choose to share them.
  • We remove hidden location data (GPS) and camera details from photos you upload.

Who can see what

  • Profiles and profile photos are visible only to signed-in members — never to search engines — and each optional detail follows the privacy setting you choose.
  • Public rooms are visible to signed-in members. Private conversations are visible only to the people in them, except as described in our private conversation policy. All chat messages disappear after 5 hours.
  • Stories are visible to the audience you choose: everyone, members only, or just you.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare hosts Sinrr and stores its data.
  • Resend delivers our account emails (like confirming your email or resetting a password).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile helps keep bots from creating accounts.
  • If you choose “Listen”, stories are usually read aloud by your own device’s built-in voice. If Sinrr ever generates narration on its servers, it’s clearly labeled as computer-generated.

Your choices

  • Edit or remove any profile detail at any time.
  • Turn off private-conversation invitations, or hide from member discovery.
  • Delete stories, comments, and messages you wrote.
  • Delete your account from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, stories, uploads, and the text of your messages.
